Industrial Support Inc., a western New York metal fabrication provider will receive a visit from President Barack Obama Thursday. Hopefully the fine folks at Industrial Support will share first-hand knowledge and insight as to what this industry needs to be not only viable, but also sustainable.

President Barack Obama's visit to Buffalo Thursday afternoon is being described by the White House as a conversation with workers on the economy.

The trip, the president's first visit to western New York, won't be open to the public.

Instead, Obama will meet with employees of Industrial Support Inc. at 36 Depot St. in Buffalo as part of a series of events that are described as the president's "White House to Main Street Tour."

Obama began the visits in December with a trip to the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. Other stops have included Lorain County, Ohio; Savannah, Ga., and Quincy, Ill.

Industrial Support Inc. in Buffalo is a contract manufacturing company focusing on metal fabrication, metal stamping, welding/brazing, and contract electronic assembly,' according to the firm's website.

The company lists five New York locations — in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Jamestown.

Air Force One is scheduled to touch down at 12:25 p.m. at Buffalo Niagara International Airport in Cheektowaga. Obama is expected to leave at 3:20 p.m. (Democrat and Chronicle)
